Real Wedding: Georgia and Ralph

Georgia fell in love with a custom Frances dress from Truvelle. Read our gorgeous bride Georgia’s experience finding her dream dress.

Please describe your wedding: We got married on the early May bank holiday at Trevibban Mill Vineyard in Cornwall. We had gorgeous wine from grapes grown on site, late night Cornish pasties, and a Ceilidh dancing. My sister made our wedding bands, and we used the same hangers my grandparents used for their wedding in 1955 for my dress and Ralph's suit, these touches made the day really special. The day before we DIY'd our florals, and the day after anyone who was still around came for a post-wedding walk along the Cornish coast, it really was everything we dreamed it would be.

What was your favourite part of the day?: My favourite part of the day was seeing everyone we love in our favourite place in the world. Although, a close second is when our photographer, Hannah, took us aside at dinner to give us 6 polaroids of us from the day so far, it was lovely to have that quiet moment to see a sneak peek.

What piece of advice would you give other couples?: Don't give in to any societal pressure or trends for your day (or your outfits), make sure the day is authentically you as a couple and you'll feel so comfortable. Also smile when walking down the aisle, even if it is cry-smiling. I focused on holding in happy tears and look terrified in every aisle photo!!

Why did you fall in love with your dress? I knew of Truvelle from an instagram post I saw in 2018 and was sure they would be the designer of my wedding dress when the day came. For that reason the only appointment I booked was with Heart Aflutter, and knew before I even attended that Frances would be my dress: first shop, first dress! I always wanted something a little bit different, not super traditional but still simple and comfy, and Frances' organza is so stunning and lightweight. By the time alterations came around, Truvelle had released Gardenia and I was in LOVE with the bow straps, I had planned to wear a bow in my hair but my seamstress was able to create detachable bows for me from the hem off-cuts and they worked perfectly.

What was your favorite part of shopping at Heart Aflutter?: I loved the selection of dresses, but also how my stylists paid attention to what I liked and were so attentive with accessory options and hair suggestions. It was a lovely, no-pressure experience!
