Real Wedding: Katy and Jack

When your wedding venue looks this good, there’s a strong argument for letting it do some of the talking. Katy and Jack’s wedding was held at the Museum of Modern Art in Dubrovnik Old Town, surrounded by historic architecture, contemporary art and views across the city and Adriatic. The brief was black tie, but the setting itself already had plenty of character, so there was no need to overcomplicate things with excessive décor.

Her bridal style followed the same instinct: confident, considered and made for actually enjoying the day. She wanted a gown that complemented the architectural lines of the venue, while still being comfortable enough to eat, drink and dance in. Because really, what is the point of a spectacular wedding dress if you're spending the reception worrying about whether you can sit down?

The result is a brilliant lesson in modern bridal style, wearing the scultural Morrison gown by Sarah Seven. Clean, sophisticated and striking, it feels right at home against the stone, art and sweeping coastal views.

It's proof that a destination wedding doesn't need a dress covered in overtly “destination” details. Sometimes the most memorable bridal looks simply respond to their surroundings: a little architectural, a little glamorous, and completely personal.
