Designer profile: Truvelle

We met founder, Gaby back in 2015 when we were less than a year old as a bridal studio. Truvelle had launched in 2013 from Gaby’s apartment and they were currently on their second collection, with incredibly exciting things astir.

First meet ❤️

‘The other day I got to hang out with this inspirational young lady and I was reminded that one of the best parts of my job is to meet such humble and talented people, who have the ability to inject a lot of enthusiasm and creativity into what I do! Thanks @gabybayona, it was a real pleasure!’

How it all started…

Gaby grew up helping out in her mum’s custom dress shop, playing a little part in the love stories of others as she and her mother sewed, stitched, and designed the perfect gown for every client that came through the doors. Seeing a gap in the bridal landscape, Gaby founded Truvelle to meet the needs of the modern bride – specifically, those who wanted something a little less traditional, something we strive to offer through every single dress we hold at HA!

‘What unfolded over the next ten years could best be described as serendipity, or kismet, in crepe, luxe, and satin.’

Since 2013, Gaby has led the design of several ethereal, whimsical collections.

Where is Truvelle made?

Vancouver-made always. In an industry where manufacturing is typically outsourced, Truvelle is proud to create their dresses entirely in-house.

Occupying an 8,500 sq ft building in East Vancouver, the Garment Studio is where each Truvelle piece is made – from first sketch to final stitch. With a team of talented individuals, from cutters and seamsters to designers and quality checkers to ensure each gown is manufactured to incredibly high standards – and with a lot of love, right in the heart of Vancouver.

New York Calling…

Each year we meet Gaby and her team at the New York Bridal Market where we see the new collection and basically bring home the magic for all of you London brides.

Heart Aflutter all time favourites…

This has been the longest-standing partnership for Heart Aflutter and we are grateful and proud to have had the chance to grow up alongside this incredible woman-led brand. A brand that champions and celebrates women everywhere.

What a match made in heaven! Here’s to another decade of making brides happy together!
